Out of all the hobbies and crafts I do knitting is by far my favorite. I love looking through patterns, touching yarn and and sorting my needles. I spend almost as much time admiring my knitting as I do actually knitting. I love to knit big, fast projects but I also take the time to knit more delicate and dramatic projects. That's what I would consider what's currently on my needles, socks. Small needles and a pretty lace pattern give me comfort during these waning winter nights. This pattern is Monkey from Knitty, Winter 2006.
Having a fun stitch pattern really helps me move more quickly through a pair of socks and so does having a yarn I love. I'm using Maizy by Crystal Palace. It's a corn fiber yarn! Yep, you read that right. Corn. It's soft, bouncy and hypo-allergenic. Go get some. Make socks with me!

Everyone is all over those monkey socks. I love knitting socks myself, I don't know why since they go so slow. But it looks like you're knitting with much bigger needles, are those 2 or 3's?
I am working on 2's but they do look large in the photo. I found the pattern on knitty.com but there's a ton of people on ravelry working on them!
